The Chemistry and Nanoscience Center, Materials Science Center, and Materials Applications and Performance Center are part of the the Materials and Chemical Science and Technology directorate, which is led by Associate Laboratory Director Bill Tumas.
Chemistry and Nanoscience. This center investigates materials and processes for converting sunlight into chemical and electrical energy. This includes conducting theoretical studies and fundamental experimental research and optoelectronic materials.
Materials Science. This center provides fundamental and applied materials science discovery and problem-solving for current next-generation renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies.
Materials Applications and Performance. This center takes proven, advanced materials suitable for high-volume manufacturing and incorporates them into the design of improved products for renewable energy systems.
